Why we exisT
We are a Christ-centered community, fighting to keep families together by preventing the abandonment of children to orphanages or the streets. We open our arms, like Jesus has done for us, to provide a safe refuge for children during the day, to focus on education, and to give support and resources to the most at-risk and vulnerable families.
We have preventative and sustainable solutions, which reach to the root of the problem rather than solely combating the symptoms, to destroy cycles of abandonment and separation and to bring families into the loving arms of Christ.
When you sponsor a child, you are fulfilling the needs of the most vulnerable children in our community. Your support helps families stay together, while offering nutritional, educational, and psychological support and biblical training to children without removing them from a family environment.

OUR LATEST PROJECT
LOS PINOS CAMPUS
In 2019, an incredible couple gifted us a property to begin the construction of our third campus in Los Pinos. Their names are Daniel and Elizabeth, and they have faced indescribable tragedy—the exact type of tragedy we exist to prevent. In 2004, they had to leave for work and lock their two daughters in their house for the day. Daycares are almost non-existent in Mexico. While they were at work, their house caught on fire and they lost their daughters in the house fire. After enduring the horrors of this event, they wanted to find a way to prevent other families from having to face the same pain they did. They tried building their own ministry and their own church but were unsuccessful. Then they discovered Open Arms and began communication with Heidi and Daniel. After many miraculous confirmations from the Lord, Daniel and Elizabeth gave their property to Heidi and Daniel with the only stipulation being that they build the next Open Arms campus there.
