My Story

Mia is a very quiet and serious girl, but when she smiles and has fun, her face lights up in a very special way. She is the older sister of Jesús Avila, who also attends our daycare. Mia's life has not been easy, she grew up without her father and this has affected her life. Her mother is a single mother and every day she works hard to put food on the table for her little family. Before Mia and her brother attended the daycare, they took care of themselves or were taken care of by distant relatives. This made her mother very worried, but it was the only thing she could do at that moment, until she reached Open Arms. We welcomed them into our family, and now they are in a safe place and their mother can have peace that they will no longer be alone or at risk of going to an orphanage.
