My Story

Damian is a playful kid, recently he lives with his dad. He is a single parent, and he
obtained legal custody since he separated from Damian's mom. Damian's mom moved
away to another place in Baja. During the time that Damian stayed with his mom, he was
neglected, at the beginning of this year she took him to stay with his dad saying that she
hasn't had the opportunity to take good care of him. Since that moment, the one who helped
taking care of Damian was his grandmother, but since she was very old, she couldn't handle
caring after Damian.
Damian's dad did not count on someone else to support him.
Damian's dad works at a restaurant as a manager in the community and he came to Open
Arms searching for a safe place where Damian can stay while he goes to work. He is so
grateful for the help he's receiving, because at this moment his son became his priority and
wants him to have a stable place. Due to the situation with the mother, he had experienced
some instability that has affected him emotionally.
When Damian came to Open Arms, he was shy and kept his distance from the others, a few
days later he began to feel part of the group, showing himself to be friendly and
affectionate.
