My Story

Violeta lost her father to health complications caused by COVID when she was 2 years old, leaving her alone with her mother Guadalupe and her brother Alexis. Because of that, her mother made the decision to come from Oaxaca where they lived to work in La Misión, where her sister had found work for her in the fields. Since then, Violeta's family has been living in our community, looking for opportunities to live better and stay together. Sweet Violeta is a very happy girl, although she has had to experience the loss of her father and faced some moments of illness, we will almost always look at her smiling. She really enjoys making friends, playing with dolls and doing activities. It was difficult for Guadalupe to take care of her children when they were young while working in the fields, since her relatives also worked and could not take care of their children. And that led her to knock on the door with open arms, where we have been able to provide a care space for her children and a place where they can find a second family.
