Today is the final day of your virtual mission trip. This weekend has flown by! We are so grateful to have shared this experience with you. Today you will meet and hear the testimonies of mothers who have been impacted by the care of our ministry. You will also have an opportunity to hear more about how you can get involved with us in fighting for families. This will be an impactful day as you wrap up your journey.

Travel Notes: Cristina’s sons started attending our daycare in 2019. Hear the testimony of how her sons brought her to Jesus. Their story is one that holds a lot of tragedy, but our God is the God of redemption. Watch as God takes a devastation and transforms it for His glory. Walk in Cristina's shoes for a day: join her in waking up her sons and getting ready for the day, and follow her as she cares for other kids at Open Arms.
Travel Notes: We at Open Arms are called to do the preventative work. Our mission is to provide the care and fill in the missing pieces needed before families get to the point of abandoning their children to orphanages, or before they are broken apart by substance abuse, poverty, and tragedy.
Hear the stories of families that have been with Open Arms from the beginning. Hear their testimonies of where they were, and where God has delivered their family to through the years. This video includes testimony from a family we rescued from a local orphanage.
Travel Notes: Jesus' last command before ascending to heaven was to "Go... and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15). We want His last command to be our first priority. See how Open Arms Church focuses on local, regional, and international missions.
Open up your Bible and study in the word how God is a finder to the forgotten and an advocate for the destitute and disenfranchised. Give yourself a little extra time to reflect on this devotion as you wrap up your mission trip.
Over the past three days, you have heard many testimonies, and you have seen things that are different from your day-to-day lives. You have seen God triumph over darkness, and you have seen the bright light of hope shine through the darkness. We conclude each of our virtual trips with a time to reflect and pray. We find that God does extraordinary things when we pause, quiet our hearts, and pray. Moments like these solidify things in our hearts that God has been communicating throughout the trip. We pray that through this time of reflection and prayer, you would experience healing, hope, and transformation as you commit to saying “yes” to following God wherever He leads you.
With this in mind, we invite you to take at least 15 minutes today to walk outside (or take a moment in the car as you are driving) to reflect on all you have seen and heard this week. Ask yourself these two questions: What is God saying? What am I going to do about it?
Pray this prayer:
"God, help me to trust in your good character and nature. Help me to say ‘yes’ to wherever you are leading me. Help me be your eyes, your hands, your feet, your words, and your heart. Open my eyes to see the calling you have for me, and give me the courage to take my next step in obedience."
Test your link at least 30 minutes before the conversation begins. The video conferencing program may ask you to download an update.
Travel Notes: Our goal is to inspire long-term change in our communities. This requires a strategy that has a long-view approach and investors who support the work consistently over time. After this weekend of discovering more about life in Mexico, what have you learned? What will you take with you as you continue with your everday life? What is your next step? Chat with Heidi and Daniel Elizararraz as they explain what next steps could look like with Open Arms.
Partner with Open Arms:
Now that you have taken a virtual mission trip to Mexico, let us help you with your next step! We would love to help you schedule another virtual mission trip with Open Arms or talk about setting up a physical mission trip. We offer physical mission trips all throughout the year at both of our campuses.
We are also always looking for partners who would like to make a long-term impact with us in Mexico. Let’s talk about how we can work together to fight for families and keep children from being abandoned to orphanages.
Join the Open Arms community:
Become a monthly supporter of Open Arms.
It takes a community to change a community. Invest in making a long-term impact in La Mision, Camalu, and the future third campus of Open Arms. Join a community of people who have committed to give each month to bring hope to vulnerable and at-risk families. You can start by sponsoring a child for as little as $25 a month! (It takes about $200 a month for a child to be in our care.)
We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for! God is doing incredible things in the lives of families in Mexico. Families are finding hope and are transforming for the glory of God. We also celebrate our sponsors and partners in the United States. God is doing incredible work through people like you! Thank you for partnering with us.
