Open Arms Mexico exists to keep families together.
In communities like Camalú, many families work in agriculture and live in extreme poverty. With little to no access to affordable childcare, parents are often faced with impossible choices—leaving their young children home alone while they work or placing them in an orphanage simply so they can be cared for.
In fact, many children living in orphanages in Mexico are not orphans at all—they have living parents who simply do not have the resources or childcare support needed to care for them while they work.
Open Arms helps break that cycle.
Through the support of churches and individual donors, Open Arms provides free childcare, giving parents the ability to work while knowing their children are safe, loved, fed, and cared for—and most importantly, allowing children to grow up with their families instead of being separated from them because of poverty.
What began as childcare has grown into so much more. The Open Arms campus in Camalú now includes a Christian school, and on Sundays, it becomes a place of worship where families and the surrounding community can come together for church.
It’s more than childcare. It’s a ministry built around strengthening families, serving the community, and giving children the opportunity to grow up surrounded by both family and faith.
