My Story

He has three other brothers (Cris, Celso, & Eliseo) and two nephews (Emmanuel & Ismael) who also attend the daycare. Hugo is a joy to be around and loves to play with his brothers, Cris and Celso, and his little nephews, Ismael, Emmanuel and Samuel. He takes being an uncle seriously! His family came up from the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca many years ago and settled in Camalu to find work in the agricultural fields. His mom makes approximately $12 a day working in the fields to put fruits and vegetables on america's tables. His oldest sister, the mother of Ismael, Emmanuel and Samuel, forfeited her education to take care of her siblings while her parents went to work in the fields. This family had one of the worst living conditions that we had seen but thankfully, through a generous sponsor, we were able to bless them with a new home. This family attends Open Arms church, and is following Christ. Please pray that they continue to grow in their faith!
