My Story

Dayra is one of the little girls who entered the Open Arms family this 2023. She comes
from a family composed of a mother and 3 teenage brothers, she is the youngest and only
daughter. She is a girl who enjoys playing a lot and loves to talk.
Sweet Dayra is her mom’s fourth pregnancy and her mother thanks God that when the baby
was born, she didn't have any complications. But unfortunately, Dayra’s mother did have to
get surgery twice due to internal hemorrhage. We know that God has a purpose for this
family and we want to be part of God’s will.
Dayra and her family have been living here in Santa Anita for approximately 3 years. Her
mother works in a hotel near the community all in order to cover the needs of her family
and for her children to continue studying.
But thank God we were able to open our arms to this family, offer a space in Open Arms to
this little girl so that she has a safe place while her mom works. Now her brothers can
continue studying and her mother can feel peace while going to work.
