My Story

Violett is a very sociable girl, she loves being in the daycare and being surrounded by children her age. When we gave her
the news that we would accept her, her mother told us that Violett hardly slept because she was so exited. Since she was
born, Violett was under the care of her grandparents, her mother's parents. Violett's mom is a single mom and her dad is
not a part of her life. Before entering the daycare, Violett was always surrounded by adults and has had adult
responsibilities. Although she was under the care of her grandparents, in reality she is the one who took care of them,
since they are very old and suffer from chronic diseases. Violett is the one who gave them their medicine and anything
else they needed. At her young age Violett had the responsibilities of an adult, while her mother, who is the only one who
provides for her home, works very hard every day. Violett came under so much pressure that one day, her mother told
us, she went out with a knife to the patio of her house, threw it on the ground and screamed “I’ve had enough”! At Open
Arms we fight for children to have a decent childhood where they can enjoy being children without having to think about
anything else, and we are grateful for the life of Violett and her family. Please help us pray for this family, that God will do
the work in their hearts through what we do here, and that one day Jesus will be the center of their lives.
