La Mision
ALEXIS is a child who really enjoys playing with cars and when he is an adult he wants to
learn mechanics, he likes making friends as well as going to school and learning new
things. He has a younger sister named Violeta, whom he takes great care of. They both live
with her mother, her name is Guadalupe, who became pregnant with Alexis when she was
very young at the age of 17 and was widowed in 2021 due to COVID complications in her
husband's health.
After his father passed away, Alexis continued to have changes in his life such as moving
from Oaxaca where they lived to La Misión, B.C, which was very difficult for the boy. At
first it was difficult for him to speak and he seemed angry, but his mother has a sister in
the Mission and she offered him work in the fields so that she would have a source of
income when she became a single mother and would not feel alone.
It was difficult for Guadalupe to take care of her children when they were young while
working in the fields, since her relatives also worked and could not take care of their
children. And that led her to knock on the door of Open Arms, where we have been able
to provide a safe place for her children and a place where they can find a second family.
Help us pray that in the midst of the pain of their loss they may experience the HEALING
LOVE OF JESUS!
